Itinerary

An active travel experience like no other

We’ve been leading slower paced women in their hiking and fitness retreats for over a decade. And from listening carefully to what’s made our guests happiest on the trails, have carefully designed an incredible 5-day schedule. Your trip leader will tailor your trip, and 24/7 in-destination support is provided. Day 1 & 7 are travel days, no activities scheduled.

DAY 2
After greeting with your trip leader and meeting your group for the week, kick off the adventure with a brisk walk around the golf course. Here you’ll catch your first glimpse of the understated beauty of Whistler, steps outside your lodging. Take a scenic stroll in the village with your group, picking up alpine pass and bike. This afternoon we’ll bike north, passing airy pine forests, sparkling lakes and spectacular vistas. On return to your lodging, delight in a late afternoon swim before happy hour on the sundeck.
DAYS 3 & 5
Continue your mountain adventure with the ultimate experience that Whistler is famous for – alpine hiking. On Tuesday the group ventures up to Blackcomb Mountain, and Thursday we go up Whistler mountain. You can join the group tour, or go self-guided. Support is offered for both options.

We do Decker Loop on Tuesdays and High Note on Thursdays – signature trails of the region. We regroup for a celebratory coffee at the end of the day. Stories are told and dinner plans are made!

DAY 4
We take a full day to pedal the paved trail network that winds around the valley. With over 40kms of car-free trails, there’s always somewhere new to explore! Experience the wonder of Whistler’s stunning lakes – nothing quite prepares you for the first viewpoint! After your day, jump off the famous Whistler docks into the cool glacial water… go for a swim and sip iced coffee, looking out to natures paradise.
DAY 6
This morning the group explores the Audain Art Museum and Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. After lunch, we kayak in a glacial lake. Among the many places you will visit, the extraordinary Alta Lake under Whistler Mountain will truly take your breath away.

Detailed Itinerary

Hiking

Guided
On day 3 and 5, we do the ‘Signature Trail’ on each mountain – graded as ‘world-class alpine hiking’ and the best advanced hikes of the region.

You don’t need hiking experience, however need to be in good health and reasonably fit with some athletic ability to navigate the terrain. You need complete confidence in your technical ability to cope with terrain that may be steep and difficult for you.

Our walking pace over 2-5 hours is between 13 and 25 minute mile pace, depending on terrain. Skill can be learnt on the trail as you go, most guests are beginner hikers with sports proficiency. Both hikes are bucket-list adventures, definitely a trip highlight!

Self-Guided

Prefer a less strenuous experience, or to explore the alpine hiking at your own pace? You’re in the right place. Thousands of tourists every day through summer visit the peaks of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, self-guided by the many sign posts, maps and easy-to-follow gravel trails.

Guests who opt out of the guided tour usually make a day together, riding the open-air chairlift to Whistlers Summit. From there, they loop around the interpretive trail learning local history from the storyboards overlooking incredible panoramic views.

Biking

Take in the stunning landscape of Whistler’s valley while cruising along the 40km paved trails that link our best scenic spots. You’ll love the customized routes we put together for our group, based on fitness, and biking experience.

Kayaking

With kayaks and life jackets to fit all sizes, even if you’ve never paddled before, you’ll quickly get the hang of it with the stable single boats and detailed instructions from our friends at Whistler Eco Tours. Alta Lake is just a few miles from Whistler Village – we shuttle to the beautiful beach park and enjoy a leisurely paddle.
